It’s that new destination that changes your patterns from the moment you found it simply because now you want to come back to it again and again. That little pocket of the world that now brings a smile to your day.
Well this is one of those places. The Sculpture on 73rd Avenue is an annual outdoor sculpture garden presented by S.W.A.G. (South Westminster Arts Group). The show is curated in a way that involves the public in the selection process for sculptures that will be displayed in the heart of the Historic Westminster Arts District near the Rodeo Market Community Arts Center at 3915 W. 73rd Ave for one year.
Along with giving the community a vibrant and ever changing public art park the event is also a great opportunity for the artist that create the work. Artists whose art is chosen to show in the Sculpture on 73rd Ave win a stipend for displaying their work and are promoted to patrons and businesses for the whole year. Their work will also be considered for purchase by the City of Westminster as part of the city’s public art program.
So take a turn off your usual drive home and take a moment to discover a new place. Bring your kids, your lunch and maybe your camera and take a moment to find a place where art is a direct part of the community.
